Fugata, alternatively titled The Hermit Project, is a visual development story set in Tang dynasty China. The viewer follows the life of famous ex-opera singer Shui-an, who turned mute out of anxiety. One faithful night she ran out of the palace and fled into the nearby woods, not wanting to be kept as a bird in a gilded cage no more. Here Shui-an learns to find her voice again with the help of a magical songtrush bird.
