The White Witch (also named Jadis) reigns with her iron fist over Narnia before the arrival of the Pevensie children. She's cunning & deceptive, even towards her own loyal servants. Jadis has a manner of locking people

up in her Ice Palace, or worse, freezing them with her magical ice scepter.
