The short film Woven Hearts is an animation about sacrifice and a sisterly bond. The story follows our main character Kina who undergoes a tough journey to gift her "coins of longevity" to the godlike being Katsek. In return, her younger sister Uki will live again, but Kina will lose her own life.

 

For this project I was responsible for the art direction, character- & prop design, colorscript, PR content, 3D modelling & texturing and 2D animation. I worked together with Sophie Breedeveld and Nikki Zwart under the name of Harpy Hue Studios.

 

The story and its setting were inspired by the Inuit, for which we researched old folklore stories and cultural clothes and weapons from their customs.
