Katsek is a powerful, god-like being who is able to exchange someone's "coins of longevity" for actual years of life.
For their design I was mainly inspired by Inuit & Lapland folklore stories, combined with their beautiful traditional wooden carvings of monster figures and masks. In my research I found out many of their "boogymen"-esque monsters didn't have a particular shape and were often beast-like. I wanted to portray this in Katsek's design with their funky shaped horns and odd body with extendable neck. The human arms were added as a nod to their once human origin & ability to shapeshift. The gold coin in the centre of their bust
functions as their source of life, similar to a heart.
